City of Eagle Point 

Public Notice – Commission vacancies.

Are you interested in volunteering? Would you like to have an impact on what is happening in Eagle Point?  Eagle Point has vacancies on its Budget Committee, Neighborhood Enhancement Commission, and Planning Commission.  No prior government experience is needed.

Public Notice of Vacancies:     The City of Eagle Point is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Budget Committee (1 vacancy – 3-year term), Neighborhood Enhancement Commission (1 vacancy, partial term ending December 31, 2023), or Planning Commission (2 vacancies – 4-year terms).  

All applicants must currently reside within the city limits of Eagle Point and have been Eagle Point residents for at least one full year prior to appointment.  Applications may be obtained online at www.cityofeaglepoint.org or picked up at Eagle Point City Hall located at 17 Buchanan Avenue South in Eagle Point.  If there are questions, please contact Cindy Hughes, City Recorder, at 541-826-4212 ext. 106.

Additional details:  The Budget Committee is comprised of City Council and lay members who work together with City staff to develop a balanced budget.  The Neighborhood Enhancement Commission acts as an advisory body to the city staff and City Council on matters pertaining to developing and preserving aesthetic, recreational and cultural values to enhance quality of life in neighborhoods throughout the community. The commission also serves as the city’s parks and tree advisory committee, in addition to supporting an annual Arbor Day observance and complying with the standards of the Tree City USA program.  The Planning Commission has special land-use authority under Oregon law to address land use matters, render judgment, and/or pass recommendations on certain matters to the City Council.
