JCSO would like to thank all those involved in planning and carrying out the 2022 Jackson County Fair, and especially the fairgoers. This year was safe and fun, and we were very glad to participate. One of our highlights was the JCSO Color Guard parading the colors for the opening of the local 4-H and FFA auction on Wednesday.
Joining our JCSO Patrol and Corrections deputies to ensure the safety of all involved, were Medford Police Department, Central Point Police Department, Jackson County Fire District 3, Medford Fire and Rescue, and Mercy Flights Ambulance.
This year there were very few incidents with only 37 calls for service through the entire Fair. These included seven disorderly conduct (DOC) calls, two individuals identified with active warrants, a medical call for a 17-year-old with alcohol poisoning, and one arrest for Trespass 2, DOC 2, Resisting Arrest, and MIP-Alcohol.
There were a few other notable incidents during the Fair:
- Wednesday an unnamed JCSO Sergeant misplaced his Air Force 1’s so was forced to wear patrol boots to the Nelly concert.
- Sunday we received a call for a stolen motor vehicle at 3 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle at 3:27 and it turned out not to be stolen, the driver just forgot where they parked.
Again, thanks to ALL for ensuring a fun and safe Fair experience. Hope to see you next year!
