Nursing Assistant 1 Program orientations offered
Rogue Community College (RCC) is offering an easy pathway to start a career in the medical field through the Nursing Assistant (NA1) Program. Spring term, the program will be offered at RCC’s Table Rock Campus in White City, April 18-May 31. This state-approved NA1 program consists of 155 hours of online and in-person training.
To help interested students learn more, three free, no-obligation orientation sessions are being offered at the RCC Table Rock Campus. Scheduled sessions will be offered on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. on March 13, March 20 and April 3.
Orientations will take place in the Health Professions Center, room 140, located at 7731 Pacific Ave., White City, Oregon. Program applications are due by April 14. Attendance at one orientation is required prior to attending the first NA1 class of the spring term, April 18.
Financial assistance for course costs is available through WorkSource Rogue Valley and information on eligibility will be shared during the orientation. Staff will also help with program applications at the orientation meeting or by appointment.
In just six weeks, students who successfully complete this training program will be eligible to take the certification exam through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. More than 90% of RCC’s NA graduates have passed the state board exam to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA1), and most have received a job offer prior to graduation.
During the first three weeks, students complete 53 hours of self-paced online learning and 27 hours of skills labs. During the final three weeks, students take part in 75 hours of hands-on, supervised clinical training at a local health care facility. This program is offered through RCC’s Continuing Education department and does not earn college credit.
