Klamath County has received 4 million dollars from the State through Senate Bill 5561 (2021 2nd Special Session). Those funds are provided to the County to assist Klamath County residents facing domestic well challenges resulting from the drought and will need to be expended by June of 2023.
The Klamath County Board of Commissioners will award grants to provide financial assistance to the owners of domestic wells located within Klamath County who experienced challenges with their well or wells due to the 2021 drought.
"We are looking forward to helping get these state dollars into the hands of those who desperately need them. Not having basic drinking water is unacceptable, and we're doing what we can to help by administering these vital funds. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors" said Commissioner Kelley Minty Morris.
For information on the domestic well program, all information and application forms will be available on the County’s website. The Board has decided to add an advisory committee to the process for reviewing the Domestic Well Financial Assistance applications. The advisory committee will review applications from applicants deemed eligible before the Board makes the final awards.
