Congressman Cliff Bentz, representing Oregon's 2nd district since 2021, has been actively engaged in legislative matters concerning the Oregon Owyhee Wilderness and Community Act. His recent social media posts shed light on his efforts and interactions related to this legislation.

On November 19, 2024, Congressman Bentz highlighted the extensive negotiations and collaborations undertaken by Malheur County residents. He shared his experience speaking before the Subcommittee on Federal Lands about his bill, stating: "After hundreds of hours of negotiations and collaboration by the people of Malheur County, I had the opportunity to speak before the Subcommittee on Federal Lands about my bill, the Oregon Owyhee Wilderness and Community Act."

In a subsequent post on the same day, Bentz expressed gratitude towards Elias Eiguren for participating in discussions regarding the legislation. He wrote: "Thank you to Elias Eiguren, a cattle rancher and representative of the Owyhee Basin Stewardship Coalition, for joining us today in this important discussion."

The following day, November 20, Bentz criticized Mr. Ryan Houston's testimony concerning the Owyhee Wilderness area. Bentz stated: "MUST WATCH: Mr. Ryan Houston, @TheOregonDesert blatantly contradicts his own testimony on the Owyhee Wilderness area. I suggest Mr. Houston take another look at just how much wilderness would be designated under this legislation."
