Josephine County Public Health invites community-based organizations to apply for public funds.
JCPH receives funds annually from the Oregon Health Authority to distribute within Josephine County. These public health modernization funds help to ensure communities throughout Oregon can thrive by having “access to quality, affordable health care,” according to the OHA.
Applicants will need to spend the awarded funds by June 30, though there will be future funding opportunities for groups that cannot meet this requirement. More information and an online application form can be found at JosephineCounty.gov/CommunityResources. Applications will be reviewed as they are received starting March 10.
“We’re always on the lookout for ways we can help local organizations seeking to improve the health of our community,” said Michael Weber, JCPH director. “By helping to distribute these funds locally, we’re able to assist organizations on the front line of community health care here in Josephine County.”
Community-based programs will be evaluated based on public health modernization strategies, including environmental health, communicable disease and emergency preparedness. Grant requests can be made for up to $50,000, though an additional panel review will be required for approval of grants of more than $25,000.
