Two opportunities to connect with government leaders

On Sunday, Feb. 5, 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the RCC Redwood Campus Cafe, U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley, who represents our region, will be holding a free public town hall meeting. Students may take the opportunity to hear about Sen. Merkley’s advocacy plans for the year ahead and may also share their concerns or offer questions regarding higher education or other matters of interest.

On Friday, Feb. 17, 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Riverside Campus Higher Education Center in Medford (Room 129), students are invited to a free workshop on how to make your voice heard by policymakers. This one-hour legislative training will give students specific tools on how to send messages to lawmakers and information on upcoming events where student stories can be brought before legislators. Refreshments will be served. You may also attend via Zoom.
