Ever wonder how the City chooses to do what it does for the community, such as mark a bike lane or improve a park feature?
In January each year, the City Council sets the direction of the organization through the strategic planning process. This process involves gathering input from Council, committees and commissions, citizens, community organizations, and staff.
Recently, a security camera was installed at Baker Park to help police monitor the park. Last week, the City chose a firm to design a new aquatics facility for Caveman Pool. Increased park security and restoration of Caveman Pool were objectives to Ensure park infrastructure included in the City’s 2022 Strategic Plan formulated last year.
Residents of Grants Pass will have an opportunity to share their opinions for next year’s Strategic Plan at the Strategic Planning Community Forum on November 17, 2022, at 6 PM in the Council Chambers, 101 NW A Street. The City of Grants Pass would like to receive comments and suggestions from community groups and interested individuals on what they believe are the highest priority, most important things for the City to accomplish.
The 2022 Strategic Plan has five goals, which reflect the City’s Mission and Vision.
- Enhance Community Safety
- Provide Cooperative Shared Leadership Involving Council, Staff, and Community
- Encourage Economic Opportunities
- Facilitate Sustainable, Manageable Growth
- Maintain, Operate and Expand our Infrastructure to Meet Community Needs
