Phoenix City Council Seeks Applicants for Vacant Position

On September 19, 2022, the Phoenix City Council declared a vacancy on the Council.  Phoenix residents who are interested in being appointed to the City Council are invited to complete an application. 

Requirements:

a.  Resided in city limits 12 months immediately before being appointed, and

b.  Qualified elector under the State Constitution.

Applications can be obtained at Phoenix City Hall (220 N. Main St.) or online (phoenixoregon.gov).  Applications will be accepted through October 21, 2022 at Phoenix City Hall or email  bonnie.pickett@phoenixoregon.gov by 5:00 p.m.  The City Council will conduct interviews on November 6, 2022. 

Interested parties are encouraged to attend City Council meetings.  Questions to consider for those applying to City Council:

  1. What do you think are the biggest issues facing the city?
  2. What is your primary motivation for seeking the vacant City Council seat?
  3. What community and city activities have you been involved in recently?
