JCSO has received many calls recently regarding mushroom hunters trespassing on private land.
Please respect private property and check maps or apps to ensure you are not trespassing.
Remember: Private property does not have to be fenced or posted, it’s up to the mushroom hunter to know they are not trespassing.
There are many apps out there that allow you to plan a hike or hunt through public lands without trespassing, one of the most comprehensive is “ON X Hunt” but it costs money. If you know of a good free app that does the same, let everyone know in the comments.
