Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his legislative efforts and community engagements through a series of social media posts.

On February 10, 2026, Bentz posted about recent legislative action: “The @HouseGOP is working to restore the American Dream of homeownership. Last night, the House passed the bipartisan “Housing for the 21st Century Act”. This legislation is focused on lowering costs, more housing options, and a stronger path to homeownership for American”.

The following day, February 11, Bentz shared details from his meeting with a young constituent: “Today I met Summer Wildbill, an impressive young Oregonian from Oregon’s Second Congressional District visiting Washington, D.C., for the Champions for Change program, part of the Center for Native American Youth at the Aspen Institute. It was great to learn about her work and”.

Later that same day, he reported on discussions with representatives from an important local infrastructure project: “It was great to sit down and speak with Representatives from the Port of Coos Bay here in Washington, D.C. We discussed funding for the Pacific Coast Intermodal Port Project, including plans to construct a new terminal at Coos Bay, the federal permitting process, and the market”.

Cliff Bentz has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. Before his time in Congress he held seats in both chambers of Oregon’s state legislature between 2008 and 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario, Bentz earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern Oregon University before receiving a law degree from Lewis & Clark College.
