Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues ranging from wildlife management to social media regulation through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On December 10, 2025, Bentz commented on the impact of gray wolves in the Western United States: “Wolves are natural born killers. The growth population of gray wolves through out the Western U.S. poses significant challenges for ranchers, farmers, and outdoorsmen’s alike. Delisting is the gray wolves is the only way that we are going to be able to allow our state fish and”.

The following day, December 11, 2025, Bentz drew attention to an upcoming appearance before a House subcommittee regarding his proposed legislation: “TUNE IN at 10:15am ET | 7:15am PT: Today, I’ll be speaking in the @HouseCommerce Subcommittee on CMT about my bill, H.R. 6290, the Safe Social Media Act. My piece legislation would require the FTC to conduct a full study on social media use among kids and teens under 17. With”.

Later that same day, he expanded on concerns related to youth and social media platforms: “I have heard from parents, teachers, and mental health professionals who are all asking the same question: what exactly do social media platforms know about our children, and how are they using that information? My bill, The Safe Social Media Act, which passed out of”.

Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd district since succeeding Greg Walden in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of both chambers of Oregon’s legislature—first as a representative from 2008 to 2018 and then as a state senator until 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario at age 71, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
