Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted legislative and committee activity on water policy and energy oversight through a series of posts on his social media account.

On April 15, 2026, Bentz wrote, “Water is the lifeblood of the West, and the people who rely on it deserve a voice in the decisions that affect it. That is why I introduced H.R. 8259, the Federal Waters Projects Consultation Improvement Act of 2026. My legislation brings greater transparency to the process and”.

The following day, April 16, he posted about an upcoming hearing: “The House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy, on which I serve, will hold a hearing on the FY27 Department of Energy Budget with Secretary Wright. Tune in at 10:00 AM ET | 7:00 AM PT https://t.co/xW3Z5TPT7s”.

Later that day, Bentz updated followers after the hearing concluded: “Today, the @HouseCommerce Subcommittee on Energy held a hearing on the FY27 Department of Energy budget with Secretary Wright. During the hearing, I discussed the opportunity to select a strong leader to lead the Bonneville Power Administration as well the need to ensure a https://t.co/Q8IiwlcJn8”.

Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd District since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. He previously served in both chambers of Oregon’s state legislature—first in the House from 2008 to 2018 and then in the State Senate from 2018 to 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis and Clark College (JD).
