Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed economic concerns in Oregon and highlighted legislative efforts on rural funding through a series of posts on his official social media account.

On December 8, 2025, Bentz shared his perspective on the state’s economy: “My statement regarding Oregon’s Economic Conditions Worsening, Democrats Flounder https://t.co/86G6ETJ0ga”.

The following day, December 9, he invited followers to watch his remarks on the House floor about two pieces of legislation: “TUNE IN at 2:00 pm ET | 11:00 am PT: Today, I am speaking on the U.S. House Floor about the passage of the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act and my bill, the Dalles Watershed Development Act. Watch here https://t.co/cLaxy52Yhb”.

Later that day, Bentz posted an update after delivering his speech: “Today, I spoke on the House Floor in support of the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act—legislation I have worked on with @SpeakerJohnson and my @HouseGOP colleagues. This bill provides $50 MILLION each year for the next three years to help offset the continued decline in https://t.co/trVEwEi59L”.

Cliff Bentz has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Greg Walden as representative for Oregon’s 2nd district. Before joining Congress, he was a member of both chambers of Oregon’s state legislature from 2008 to 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University and Lewis and Clark College.
