U.S. Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district, recently highlighted his office’s efforts to assist constituents and addressed legislative initiatives in a series of social media posts.
On March 11, 2026, Bentz described a case involving a local resident: “My team is ready to help! Recently, we worked with Ms. Gregg of Medford after she was incorrectly charged a $200,000 debt by the VA and continued to have her benefit payments withheld. After our office contacted the agency, the issue was resolved within one week and her benefits”.
Later that day, Bentz commented on flood insurance policy and its intersection with federal environmental regulation: “Flood insurance exists to protect families and property, not to serve as a backdoor for Washington to dictate local land-use decisions. That is why I introduced legislation to clarify that the Endangered Species Act should not be applied through the National Flood Insurance”.
On March 12, 2026, he posted about tax policy affecting American families: “The Working Families Tax Cuts help hardworking Americans keep more of what they earn and provide relief for families across the country!”
Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Greg Walden. He previously served in both chambers of the Oregon Legislature from 2008 through 2020. Bentz was born in Salem in 1952 and currently resides in Ontario. He holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis and Clark College (JD).
