U.S. Congressman Cliff Bentz, representing Oregon’s 2nd district, has recently highlighted his legislative efforts on social media, focusing on support for family farms and rural communities as well as ongoing discussions with academic leaders about tax policy and research funding.
On March 31, 2026, Bentz expressed gratitude to an agricultural organization for its endorsement of his legislative work: “Thank you to the American Farm Bureau Federation for recognizing the importance of my bill, H.R. 7862. Protecting family farms and rural communities in Oregon and beyond, means reining in overreach and bringing some common sense back to how we regulate the economic opportunities”.
Continuing his updates, Bentz reported a meeting with an educational leader in Oregon on April 1, 2026: “Recently, I met with the Dean of Forestry at Oregon State University to discuss how the Working Families Tax Cuts are supporting critical university and state research programs, as well as the need for continued appropriations to sustain that work.”
Later that same day, he reiterated his position regarding flood insurance legislation: “H.R. 7862 gets the National Flood Insurance Program back to its core mission: protecting lives and property. Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. He previously served in both chambers of the Oregon legislature between 2008 and 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
