Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account regarding tax policy changes, federal funding for rural schools, and engagement with students in Washington, D.C.

On April 14, 2026, Bentz highlighted the impact of recent tax reforms by stating: “Hardworking Americans are feeling the difference thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts. With no tax on tips or overtime and larger deductions for seniors and working families, Americans can keep more of what they earn!”

Later that day, he addressed federal support for education and infrastructure in rural communities: “The U.S. Forest Service announced that it issued $248 MILLION in Secure Rural Schools payments for 2025, funding that matters for Oregon’s rural communities. I was proud to help lead the reauthorization of this critical program. It delivers support for schools, infrastructure,”

On April 15, 2026, Bentz described an interaction with local students: “Spoke with a great group of students this morning from Arlington School District about the power of AI, the legislative branch and current issues that are before Congress. Thank you for making the trip to Washington, D.C.!”

Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd district since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of both the Oregon House of Representatives (2008–2018) and the Oregon State Senate (2018–2020). Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario at age 71, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis and Clark College (JD).
