Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), recent comments by Governor Tina Kotek, and his engagement with local organizations.
On August 19, 2025, Bentz addressed remarks made by Governor Tina Kotek about OBBB’s effect on federal assistance programs. In his post he stated: “I issued a statement regarding recent comments made by Governor Tina Kotek about the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) on SNAP and Medicaid. Later that same day, he reflected on his meeting with The Dalles Rotary to discuss legislative priorities. He wrote: “I had a great discussion with The Dalles Rotary about key provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill and how it will benefit Oregon’s taxpayers. Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Greg Walden. Before joining Congress, he served in both chambers of the Oregon legislature between 2008 and 2020. Born in Salem in 1952, Bentz resides in Ontario and holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University and Lewis and Clark College.
