Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his meetings and outreach efforts with local leaders and constituents through a series of posts on social media.
On August 25, 2025, Bentz posted about a discussion with Mt. Vernon Mayor Kenny Delano, stating: “Had a great conversation with Mt. Vernon Mayor Kenny Delano today! We discussed the reconciliation package and its impact on our small communities, the importance of simplifying zoning modifications so more housing can be built, and other key funding needs. Thank you for meeting”.
Later that day, Bentz highlighted his appearance on local radio: “It was great to join Logan Bagett on Coffee Time at KJDY Radio. We discussed everything from the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) to my work with the Administration to make sure rural Oregon’s priorities are heard in Washington, D.C.”
On August 26, 2025, Bentz posted about meeting veterans in John Day: “This morning, I met with Veterans in John Day. As always, I appreciate the time spent with each of them. These patriots defended our country and protected our freedom with honor and courage. They certainly deserve our support and gratitude for their service to our nation.”
Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Greg Walden. He previously served in both chambers of the Oregon legislature—first as a member of the House of Representatives from 2008 to 2018 and then as a state senator from 2018 to 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario, Bentz is an alumnus of Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
