Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted his legislative activities and constituent engagement through a series of posts on social media.

On May 14, 2026, Bentz wrote about his participation in a House Natural Resources Committee hearing: “Yesterday, I questioned @SecretaryBurgum during the House @NatResources Committee hearing on the FY27 Department of the Interior budget. We discussed the failures Oregon has faced from poor federal land management, wildfire risk, and delayed permitting. I look forward to working https://t.co/aLXR4WcNW2”.

The following day, Bentz announced funding secured for military infrastructure: “I was proud to secure and include $80 million for Kingsley Field’s Academic Training Center in the Fiscal Year 2027 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs appropriations bill, which passed the House today. Kingsley Field plays a critical role in our nation’s defense and” (May 15, 2026).

Later that same day, he shared details of a meeting with constituents: “It was great meeting with Dave, Matthew, and Leanne Klym from Crooked River Ranch during their visit to our Washington, D.C. office! I always appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from my constituents and discuss the important legislation that impacts our communities. https://t.co/zF1lbe59kf” (May 15, 2026).

Cliff Bentz has served as Oregon’s 2nd district representative since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of Oregon’s state legislature—first as a member of the House of Representatives from 2008 to 2018 and then as a State Senator until 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario at age 71, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
