Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed issues concerning wildlife management and water security in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On December 18, 2025, Bentz highlighted concerns regarding wolf populations, stating: “Today, I spoke on the House floor about the damages wolves are inflicting on wildlife, preying on livestock, and damaging the ability of fish and wildlife agencies to do their jobs. Ranchers, farmers, and sportsmen are tired of seeing their cattle chased, harassed, and killed,”.

The following day, December 19, 2025, he commented on legislative developments related to gray wolf management: “Yesterday’s vote is a long-overdue acknowledgment that the federal government’s approach to gray wolf management has failed. From my first days in Congress I have pushed to delist the gray wolf because of the consequences of inaction are being felt every day in Oregon’s Second”.

On December 20, 2025, Bentz discussed progress on a bill addressing water security for The Dalles: “Last week, I spoke on the House floor about the importance of my bill, H.R. 655, the Dalles Watershed Development, which PASSED the House. This is a critical step toward protecting The Dalles’ drinking water and strengthening long-term water security.”

Cliff Bentz has served as U.S. Representative for Oregon’s 2nd District since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. Before joining Congress, he was a member of both the Oregon House of Representatives (2008-2018) and State Senate (2018-2020). Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario at age 71, Bentz holds degrees from Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
