Congressman Cliff Bentz, who represents Oregon’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on January 27, 2026, addressing topics ranging from Holocaust remembrance to tax policy and local issues affecting Eastern Oregon.

In recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Bentz stated: “On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we stop to remember the millions of lives lost to pure evil and hatred. We must continue to root out and put down antisemitism and hatred wherever it still exists.” (January 27, 2026)

Later that day, Bentz commented on recent federal tax policies: “Because of historic tax cuts passed by House Republicans and signed into law by President Trump, working families and seniors are seeing bigger tax refunds. He also highlighted an interview with a local newspaper about regional concerns: “I recently sat down with the Baker City Herald to discuss several important issues facing Eastern Oregon and the nation. We spoke about federal law enforcement to Medicaid reforms, rural healthcare funding, and the future of our energy infrastructure. Read the full interview” (January 27, 2026)

Cliff Bentz has represented Oregon’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Greg Walden in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Oregon Legislature from 2008 through 2020. Born in Salem in 1952 and currently residing in Ontario at age 71, Bentz is an alumnus of Eastern Oregon University (BA) and Lewis & Clark College (JD).
